By accessing this website, booking an appointment, or engaging services with Axis Within, you agree to the following Terms & Conditions.

1. Appointments

Appointments may be booked online, via email, or through our secure client portal.

All new clients are required to attend an Initial Consultation before ongoing therapy can commence.

Standard consultations are 50 minutes in duration. Extended consultations may be available for existing clients where clinically appropriate.

Axis Within Psychology reserves the right to review, pause, or discontinue services where ongoing treatment is no longer considered clinically appropriate, professional boundaries are impacted, safety concerns arise, or alternative services are considered more suitable.

2. Suitability of Services

Axis Within Psychology provides psychological services within the practitioner's scope of practice and professional competencies.

Where appropriate, clients may be referred to alternative practitioners, medical providers, or other services that are better suited to their needs.

Services may be declined, paused, or discontinued where treatment is considered outside the scope of the practice, where engagement requirements are not met, or where safety concerns arise.

3. Fees and Payments

Fees are payable at the time of the appointment unless otherwise agreed in writing.

Current fees are published on the Axis Within Psychology website and may be reviewed periodically.

Any fee changes will be communicated prior to future appointments.

4. Medicare Rebates

Clients with a valid Mental Health Treatment Plan (MHTP) and referral from a General Practitioner (GP) may be eligible for Medicare rebates under the Better Access Initiative.

Medicare rebates are subject to current Medicare eligibility requirements and rebate schedules.

Clients are responsible for ensuring that all required referral documentation has been provided prior to their appointment.

Medicare rebates cannot be claimed for missed appointments.

5. Private Health Insurance

Clients may be eligible to claim rebates through their private health insurer, depending on their level of cover.

Clients are responsible for confirming their eligibility directly with their insurer.

Medicare and Private Health Insurance rebates cannot be claimed for the same consultation.

6. Cancellation Policy

A minimum of 24 hours' notice is required to cancel or reschedule an appointment.

Appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours' notice, or missed appointments without notice, may incur the full consultation fee.

Medicare rebates cannot be claimed for missed appointments or cancellation fees.

7. Telehealth Services

Telehealth appointments are delivered using secure electronic platforms.

Clients are responsible for ensuring they have access to an appropriate device, internet connection, and private environment suitable for the session.

While reasonable efforts are made to ensure reliable service delivery, technical difficulties or third-party platform interruptions may occasionally occur.

Telehealth services may not be appropriate for all clients or circumstances.

8. Communication Between Sessions

Administrative enquiries may be made via email.

Email is not monitored continuously and should not be used for urgent clinical matters, crisis support, or emergencies.

Therapeutic support is generally provided during scheduled appointments only.

9. Confidentiality and Privacy

Axis Within manages personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs), and applicable professional and ethical obligations.

Information shared during therapy is treated as confidential except where disclosure is authorised by the client or required by law.

Examples may include circumstances involving serious risk of harm to the client or another person, mandatory reporting obligations, court orders, or other legal requirements.

Further information is available within the Practice Privacy Policy.

10. Respectful Behaviour

Axis Within Psychology is committed to providing a safe, respectful, and professional environment.

Aggressive, threatening, abusive, discriminatory, or inappropriate behaviour towards practitioners or administrative staff will not be tolerated and may result in the termination of appointments or services.
